Job description

As a Business Developer SaaS Municipalities for the German market, you are responsible for driving new business growth from first contact to closed deal. You identify opportunities, build strong prospect relationships with municipalities, and position Jewel Software as a strategic partner. Acting as the face of Jewel Software in Germany, you ensure prospects clearly understand the value and impact of our SaaS solutions. You’re given the freedom and trust to act as an entrepreneur, building and growing the business in Germany with clear ownership and end-to-end responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify, generate, and qualify new business opportunities within the German municipality market through a mix of self-initiated activities (cold calling, social selling, events, trade fairs) and inbound leads.
  • Own the entire new business sales cycle: from initial outreach and needs analysis to deal closing and a smooth handover to Customer Success.
  • Build and manage a healthy, sustainable sales pipeline through continuous prospecting, follow-up, and CRM-based forecasting.
  • Lead consultative sales conversations, uncovering customer challenges and translating them into Jewel Software solutions.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations, both online and on-site, and guide prospects through complex decision-making and stakeholder alignment.
  • Actively track market developments, competitor activity, and customer needs to sharpen your sales approach and strategy.

You work closely with Marketing, Product Managers, Consultants, and Customer Success to optimise conversion and ensure a strong customer experience. In addition, you collaborate with sales colleagues in other regions to exchange insights and best practices.

Function requirements

You’re commercially driven, proactive in spotting and converting new business opportunities and energised by closing deals. You take ownership, work independently with ease, and thrive in a dynamic, international environment. You know how to communicate confidently with different stakeholders and have strong negotiation skills. Working across borders feels natural to you, and growing business in the German market motivates you. You value structure and understand the power of CRM and sales processes.

What else you bring:
  • Fluent business-level German; German native is a strong plus.
  • Fluent English; knowledge of Dutch is welcome but not required.
  • At least 3 years of B2B sales experience in consultative selling and long sales cycles with a proven track record; experience within a SaaS environment is highly valued.
  • Sales experience in the German market would be great.
  • Experience selling to municipalities and an existing relevant network are considered advantageous.
  • Availability of 40 hours per week and willingness to travel to Germany occasionally.

  • Gross monthly base salary between € 4.500,- and € 6.000,- based on a 40-hour workweek.
  • An uncapped, performance-based quarterly bonus tied to revenue, with realistic earnings of around 30% of your annual base salary at on target performance. To support a smooth start, a bonus arrangement is in place during the first three months, allowing you to fully focus on onboarding.
  • A solid pension scheme and 28 vacation days per year based on a 40-hour workweek.
  • You have flexibility in where and when you work, whether from home or the office. We value seeing you in the office one or two days a week and occasionally you’ll visit customers in Germany.
  • All the equipment you need will be provided, including your choice of laptop or desktop, as well as an electric company car or a mobility budget, depending on your preference.
  • A one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position.
  • Plenty of room for personal development, including a budget for training courses, books, conferences, etc.
  • A high-end office in Wageningen with a pleasant workspace, and well-catered lunches every day.
